Super flexible clients, like yogis, might seem easier to work on, but that’s where misconceptions creep in. Here are the top three:

1️⃣ They don’t need deep work.
Just because they have range doesn’t mean they don’t have restrictions or tension. Stability work can be just as important.

2️⃣ Stretching is always the answer.
Overstretching hypermobile clients can lead to instability. Sometimes, what they need is reinforcement, not more length.

3️⃣ More movement = less tension.
Many flexible clients hold deep, hidden tension in stabilising muscles. Precision work is key.

Some techniques just can’t be done from the floor.

Some may think that getting on the table is being flashy. I disagree. To me it’s about access, control, and delivering the right pressure without overworking myself.

Sometimes, the best angle for deep, effective work on the hips, back, or shoulders means positioning yourself above the client, not beside them.

Yes, mastering this skill is about balance but also learning how to shift your weight efficiently, staying stable, and using gravity to your advantage. If you’ve never tried it, start slow. The table is a tool and you should learn to use every inch of it.
